Wicker Park

Whooow!.. that’s all I can say, over and over as I was watching this!.. I never thought I would appreciate this, I copied it in my officemates movie files, not because I heard or I have an idea that this movie is awesome!! I copied it thinking it might “somehow” entertain me on the weekend..

It’s a love story, and there were only few foreign (love stories) film that I found not boring… two thumbs up to this!

Wicker park is actually reminding me of so many local movies or novels, but this one is so effortlessly beautiful!

I’m not narrating the plot here, aside from I’m not good at that, I want you to watch for yourself. If you are a stalker (count on me there.. joke!) or being stalked, then surely you can relate on this.. hehe

And I love the songs played here—“the scientist” by cold play and “Beautiful and Stranger” by Aqualung.

The Butterfly Effect

I’ve watched so many movies recently but never had the thought of visiting my multiply and make a review or comment about them, until I’ve got to see “Butterfly Effect” and “Time Traveler’s Wife”.

Butterfly Effect, the title didn’t give me an impression of it as worth watching, saved in one of my officemates shared movies on our network while I ran out of movie choices on our break time.

After getting done of it yesterday, now I could say it was really a nice movie! I thought first it’s just a psychological problem related film, but it’s actually fictional but swear this one make sense! The main cast could travel back to his past and could change everything. He could alter his present situation if he could change something from his past.

Despite the critical failure and negative reviews it earned as what I’ve read on the internet while looking for pictures I could attach in here, still I got the message this movie wanted to portray.

In real life, I was thinking of transporting to my childhood days too and would have to choose different path, who and what would I be right now…? I was filled with “what if” thoughts and that movie just struck my mind. Sometimes I regret my past actions and I would think that my life would have been perfect “if  only” or “if only I had not”—anything from the past. But this movie is answering my life queries that no matter what you did in the past, still life wouldn’t be picture perfect. If you want to see my point, just watch the movie…

And it so coincidental that the movie I’ve seen this morning has similarity to that abovementioned one, “Time Traveler’s Wife”, from its title, you shouldn’t ask why. But the difference is, the main character couldn’t change anything from his yesterdays. And this one made me cry too, haha… yah, I’m not sure if I just wanted to cleanse my eyes that I cry in sad movies or I am really bleeding my heart out.. haha.. I’m exaggerated there!

Anyway, lesson learned? Value time coz time is gold (so new.. hehe).

That’s all!

9th of 9th of 2012

Hey… its Sunday and its about to end, I hate Mondays as always..

Anyway, so what we got here today?? Nothing so fascinating as always too but I love Sunday, you know that!

I woke up past 10am, I know that’s kinda late but you’ll forgive me if I’ll tell you that I rise from bed at 5:30 am Monday-Saturday..

I had this picture tripping, no breakfast yet, not even washed and brushed my hair, my teeth as well… hehe.. just wanna show the world how I looked messed up in the morning.. that my brother would tell me this when he saw the pictures.. “ew! Walang ligo, mukhang ang baho mo”.. hahaha

Anyway, so I ate breakfast, oh that’s “brunch” to be specific… then browsed the internet, chat with my sister and my friends, watched online the remaining episodes of walking dead season2 that I haven’t watched.

I just loved Glen!

Later this afternoon, I had a slight headache, so I decided to see the sun for awhile, the sunset coz that's already 5pm when i left my room.. I took my dirty clothes to the nearest laundry shop, bought some fruits and groceries at Save More, just few meters away from us.

And at the moment I’m back to watching the Walking Dead, it’s just a bit annoying the player is loading so sluggish, that’s why I’m doing this blog while waiting…. (sigh).

^__^ -- at 1st day of July

July 1! I don’t know why I’m being baffled with this day, could it be because it’s nearing August?? And that’s my birth month…. Whatever! Maybe I should look for Peter Pan and ask him to take me to Neverlands… and I do believe in fairies… hehe

So, where was I today? Well, I spent the whole morning in my room… I had a Samurai X marathon, I just loved it! I love Kenjin Himura…

and in the afternoon, my brother and I went to Glorietta to watch the Spiderman… Honestly, I was bored with it, so many dull moments.. I still go for Tobey Maguire!

And I’ve met an old friend too, Rohannie.

This is how yours truly looked like today..

And this my brother asking me to take his picture at this very spot—Makati Ave., in front of Ayala Museum.

So, that’s it..

Good night for now!

THE PROPOSAL

I just hate love stories! Its so disheartening it reminds me how my love life screwed! Haha… ew that!

Skip mine, let’s get back to the movie. When I was at my first job way back 2008, I’ve been seeing the poster of this movie on the cinemas, but I didn’t mind it, now I could conclude I had missed it, but never mind, I’ve watched it already last night.

Anyway, nice one Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, I love your movie so much! I love the scenery too.

INDEPENDENCE DAY!

Asking me how did I celebrate my freedom today?  Well, nothing so bizarre, same as my old boring days, but you know how good I am in handling dull days…. So if ever you wish to get jaded then stick with me! Haha.. just kidding.

What’s so good about this day is I didn’t spend so much money, I didn’t go anywhere.. I went out only to send my dirty clothes to the laundry shop.

I watched different genre of movies. I food tripped, and I’m glad that my appetite is back, could it be because I stopped taking the food supplements for quite a while now, or because I am no longer inlove nor broken hearted? Hmmmm, I think I’m still but forget about that corniness Whahahaha…

I’ve watched some parts of the sci-fi series GRIMM. Well, that was fine.

I’ve enjoyed the dance musical film HONEY2, im not really a fan of such movies, you know that dancing thing--- but this is another exception, it was great.

I’ve roll back the Thai move CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED LOVE… again??? Yes, childish I maybe, but I loved it so much….

And just a while ago, I had an horror film, THE TRAVELLER, it almost got rotten on my laptop but since I had run out of movies, I got no choice but to watch it, I’ve finish it though that one is really gross and sickening.

It was a long day for me but I don’t wanna go back to work yet… (sigh) but I have to…

Good night now!

PS: Happy Bday to my eldest bro!

Happy Independence Day Philippines!

What do you do when you don't know what to do?

Just a line from the movie I’ve watched a while ago.. “This means war”, that’s a good one, I forgot that I was upset .. Thanks to Lee  ( my officemate), he recommended it to me, he actually almost forced me to watch it the other day in the office after work, but I said I will just copy it.. hehe.. I heard myself laugh countless for this.. It’s a movie about love and friendship..

Anyway…. What to do when you don’t know what to do??? Arrr, I just did something I think I mustn’t... haha, but I did already.. that’s just an interruption…. And what I just did I guess isn’t an answer…. I shouldn’t have done that! Wahhhhh.. haha

Seriously, what do you do when you don’t know what to do????? I hope somebody could answer me

TEARS OF THE SUN

~The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing~ edmund burke

Another nice movie that I finished watching, Tears of the Sun, its not a new one, it was released way back 2003, but I'm such a loser to watch it just now.

I found it so interesting  and "makapagbagabag damdamin".. Its a war film but ihe story didn't fail to impress me. i'm actually used to this kind of movies (yah you will really get used to it when you belong to a family where girls outnumbered by men).. my uncles and my brothers were a huge fan of action and war movies, so what do you expect.. hehe.. and not to mention i was raised to a place not so far away from real war! haha... but I thank God I never had myself inolved to that kind of situation...

and this is actually not about war, its about choices. These soldiers are caught between their mission and humanity. They have to choose whether they should do what they are obliged to  or they should follow their conscience and save the refugees.

Anyway, in movies like this, you would really think that only few men will survive at the end, at ganon nga ang nangyari!

basta tinatamad na ako mag-explain.. antok na kasi ako.... basta, i love this one!

THE AVENGERS

Latch night I watched this movie, and it was worth watching.

..and thanks to ALLEN for this movie treat.. i owe you! hehe

3/18/2012

Another boring Sunday.. and I don’t know why I always can’t wait for every Sunday to come.  Could it be because it’s time to rest and I’m at least few kilometers away from work?? Or.. I don’t know.. I’m not even doing something exciting.. hehe

I’m actually watching a horror movie a while ago , The Woman in Black, and unfortunately I wasn’t able to reach the end, my laptop misbehaved again! The disc wasn’t even working on our portable DVD player so I tried here on my old laptop but it stopped playing.

Speaking of movies, I went so tired of making my reviews. I’d love to blog about it but I just can’t… the least I can do is to give you the roll.

I’ve watched Terminator, from the latest part to oldest, that’s way back 1984 right? I had a quick glance of those movies before like in HBO maybe or somewhere else, but I was so minor then I couldn’t even understand the story. And now I was amazed as how they maintain the quality of that movie… from 1984-2009!

I’ve watched “The Last Castle “ too, nice movie.

“Mr. Popper’s Penguins”.. cute

And another love story movie “Something Borrowed”… I found fun in it, I love the story.

anyway, i've watched those movies (except for Woman In Black) in the office, ofcourse during lunch break.

UP

So, its been like forever since the last time I had my movie reviews, I’m just being busy. That’s the irony sometimes, you’re being given a scanty time in doing the things you love.. haha

Anyway, this lunch break in our office, I’ve watched the animated movie “UP”, maybe because I’m such a loser dreamer why I liked it, or maybe the kid in me is just showing off.

Its making me wonder of so many things, I wanna be somewhere else, let those balloons take me there… I’m such a fantasist here.

On some point, I felt bad about Mr. Fredricksen’s wife, she died not getting into the place she been dreaming of for so long. and I was thinking of myself, I have so many wishes in my mind, so many places I wanna get myself to, but I’m not taking chances, I’m so in frail to do so, im still waiting to get my self a good grip and explore, be in no doubt and more independent. Oh, I’m not the topic here.. hehe

Lets get back to the movie.. I had fun, its maybe childish but I have absorbed some values on it. Its about reaching your dreams, saving memories, helping those needy and soaring high!!

and its my kind of movie, the scrapbook thing--i love that.

The little kid Russel, he was so adorable!

go watch it!

and yes i knew it, this is not a new movie.....

food tripping and movie marathon

It’s not because today is November 1 that I got to watch horror and suspense films, I could say I’m used to such. I just hate boring movies, that’s I why I watch movies like those.

Later this afternoon, I had my food tripping and a movie marathon as well. “The Husk” and “Devil” were the first two movies I’ve watch, both terrorized me a bit.. hahaha

And to calm my disturbed senses due to those movies, I shifted to a light  one “The smurfs”--- that was smurfsly cute. I just love that thought of getting transported to other place, I had written a story with that kind of concept too, you know, animation inspired.. hehe, yah because I feel like I don’t belong “here” sometimes, I’ve dreamed of disappearing and get into another world, absurd huh!... anyway  “the smurfs” movie was the other way around, these blue cute creatures got themselves lost in our world, that’s New York City to be particular…

Anyway, Good night! Back to work tomorrow (sigh)…

THE THREE IDIOTS

Before I’ll forget the sense of this movie, I must do some blogging about it here, anyway, I don’t think I would be able to forget it, this one will surely gonna stir you up.

I could say it’s one of my favorite, superb!

By just hearing the title, you’ll know it’s a comedy, but it’s truly inspiring than just plainly humorous. Maybe the title didn’t give justice as to what this film is projecting, but if you have to watch it, surely you won’t have a dull moment, it’s lengthy but very entertaining. no matter how prolonged it was, still I couldn't get enough of it.

What so good about it is the delivery of the message and nous of the story in a light and funny way you won’t get bored. But I won’t be surprise too if at some point of it you’ll ask why your tears are falling in a comedy movie.

I was bit nostalgic watching this since the three idiots are engineering students, it reminded me of my college days.

The movie is quiet musical, I’m not really fond of musical movies except for this, I had fun!

And the scenery is awesome!

Watch for it! trust me, you will be heartened and enthused!

Goodnight!

on rainy not so lonely sunday ;)

its Sunday, and its been a while since my last post of my Sunday’s whereabouts’. That also could mean, no movie updates, though I’ve watched so many recently.

I had my checklist for what should i do today. And I’m about to accomplish all of those. This blog is even on the list.. except for that of going to Market Market, anyway I got no business to attend there, just wanted to stroll around, but the dark sky and heavy rain changed my mind.

I watched Azumi part two, that was incredibly incredible! Haha… yah, I love it sooooo much I wished it wouldn’t come to an end, I was thinking of creating my own review of that movie, but aside from me, running out of words, I’ve got no enough time as well. Its past 8. But just like QSD, it has this part that broke my heart, yah! Bad.

I also watched “Mean Girls”. I had fun but that one didn’t mark any distinction from highschool girly girly movies I’ve seen. And movies like those made me feel how dull I’ve spent my secondary years, I was so uninvolved of anything. I can’t think of momentous my classmates would remember me of.. hehe.

I was doing this on my laptop that I rarely use nowadays, I feel much better using my brothers’. And maybe that’s the reason why my laptop is a bit grudging on me, its misbehaving, I’ve inserted 3 disc, but my old Acer is rejecting it, not reading it, it even hanged on me! Was it a sign of aging? I’m not thinking of replacing it. Tsk!

Anyway i couldn't think of any title for this, but surely it was rainy today and im not that lonely either.... hehe..That’s all for tonight!

Hachiko: A Dog's Tale

Oh my! I can't believe I shed a tear in our office because of this based-on-true-story movie, Hachiko,  That was during lunch break, no one saw me, ofcourse I wont let anyone see me crying!

The movie broke my heart because of this adorable dog, I found it so adorable when it was still a puppy, I wish I could hug it.

Who wouldn't get sentimental seeing Hachi patiently waits for his deceased master on the train station (as what he used to do) for nine years! That was longer than the time he's been with his master (Richard Gear).

Suddenly I could relate on the idea of waiting, what if I am also waiting for something that is gone forever???

anyway, at the end part of the movie, just like comforting the viewers, Hachi and the owner  reunited as their spirits rise up to heaven.

6/12/2011 movies

if not only for a nature tripping, then I prefer staying indoor, watch movies, surf the net, read different people’s blog, read books and rest my mind during my off.

So how did I spend my no-work day this time? It’s another movie marathon!

Last night I watched Priest, I was entertained, it’s not boring that there were moments I just found myself with my jaw down. Haha

I had three movies today, first one, Exorcismus, and I can say that one made me feel a bit dreary, I even told my brother to cut it and shift to another disc, but he refused to.

Also on the list, an Indian horror movie, Haunted.. It’s a bit corny but the effects were good enough. It’s somehow a combination of different movies I’ve watched already. Have you read my blog about the movie “secret”? Coz I don’t know if this movie copied the idea of travelling into time with the aid of a piano or things like that.

And my favorite.. A Crazy Little Thing Called Love, maybe you knew about it coz its quiet popular and recently ABS CBN aired this. It’s typical, so highschool, but they were able to make it amazingly cute. It made me laugh, and it made me sob a little too (hahaha). I was so touched the way the girl cried at the end part, it seemed so true. And I liked also the transformation of the cast, especially the girl, her being a “bug face” before was so natural.. I’m no teen, but I love this movie.

FROM PRADA TO NADA

Just watched this romantic comedy movie during our lunch break in office today, a "riches to rags film".

This is a story of two sisters living in a mansion, like princesses in their ivory castle. Everything seems to be so perfect, until their father died unexpectedly, living them almost broke. Luckily, Nora and Mary have a good hearted aunt to fall back on. They packed their things and move into their aunt's humble house.  Nora could stand it, but not Mary, she just couldn’t accept that they are now out of their comfortable world.  But later on, they’ve started learning the other side of life.

I enjoyed watching it. And it made me value more the essence of sisterhood. The relationship and status of the two sisters is somewhat like me and my younger sister too. Nora, the older sister, is the old fashioned one, has no boyfriend (of course not till the end), serious about life and career, and a bit dorky and dull, and her sister is none of those, o at least… and we’re a bit of that too..

SECRET

Before I’ll take my side on this movie, I would like to thank Jeny Santiago for recommending me this, and downloading it for me.

This fictional and romantic film is something extraordinary.  Though I had already an idea as what’s really going on, I mean, my presumption is right, I knew it from the start that the girl is really not existing on the present time, but still you wouldn’t guess the “how and why” at first.

At some point, I was so elated with the main cast expressing their affection to each other, endearing but not so vulgar---I hope you got my point, I really couldn’t find the exact word to describe it. I’m such a big fun of Asian love story movies (exempt our very own, hehe), they’re able to deliver the story in such light and appealing manner, at sometimes I thought I could relate.. haha.. and the Cinematography, its next to perfect.

Secret reminded me of two movies,  IL mare/Lake house and Before You Say I do for the dramatic twists and “time travel thing”.

The movie conveys the magic of music.  The “secret “is actually a piece (in piano) that has the power to take the one who plays it backward or forward in time.  Unfortunately, Lu Xiaoyu and Xianglun, was a victim of such. They became lovers 20 years apart. But in the end, they will be reunited.

Anyway, just watch for it, it can be nerve disturbing and confusing. Surely at the end part, you’ll ask questions like these, what about----? What will happen to---? How would---? And etceteras, but it seems that the leading cast would just answer you back “it doesn’t matter, as long as we are together again” hahaha.

That’s why, it’s a secret huh? it will leave you wondering.

To sum it up, the movie is nice.. And so with the sky, the sea, the wind, the nature you’ll see in this piece of art.

Once again, thanks Jen!

4/23/11 movie time

After getting keyed up by my yesterday’s choice of movies, action/suspense and thriller, I decided to treat myself for love stories this time, something that would make my heart pound and fall in love.

So I scanned my drive C if there are still movies I copied from office I haven’t watch, there are still more and I thought Before You Say I Do was a good pick. At first, I didn’t find it appealing. But I gave the film a chance and finished it. It was okay but I really can’t say it would be tattooed in my mind. It’s a story of a guy who proposed marriage to his girlfriend. Unfortunately, Jane wouldn’t take it; her first marriage was a failure. George met an accident, that was after he wished he could go back 10 years before Jane got married. And it was granted.

Next movie just tickled my heart. A Korean romantic comedy, Lost and Found. After I got delighted with Windstruck, Sassy Girl, and A moment to Remember , I been so hooked with such sorts. Though the story is typical, still I had a great time watching it. It’s all about a girl who’s actually secretly madly inlove with the same guy for ten years… but he never noticed her until one day when she bumped into his car. On the other hand, a childhood friend of the girl also confessed his love to her. O, I’m really bad in narrating, just watch it, I recommend this.

The other two Asian movies I’ve watch today was so annoying I was not able to finish it. The story sucks!

Good night!

4/22/11 movie time

3 movies this day almost drained my eyes now and I still want more but unfortunately dreamland is inviting me. So, this is how I'm spending my holidays. I got nowhere to go anyway.

Seasons of the Witch-this supernatural thriller just awaken my dull day. Nothing really unusual but somehow it saved me from dreariness.

Kung Fu Chefs-At first I didn’t recognize Vaness Wu of F4 who is actually playing a big role on this movie, and he’s somewhat different there, from a pacute and arrogant character I’ve known of him, he’s a bit comical with this one.  And what I love in this movie Is the cooking strategies though I believe is quite impossible!.. But for entertainment sake, this movie is at least doing its part. For a short moment, I dreamed of me loving the cookery thing..

Battle: Los Angeles- it’s my favorite among the three. Though it’s just another Independence Day, Armageddon, Skyline and other Alien conquering the Earth related movies, I found it out of the ordinary. I just love the attitude  of the brave soldiers in there. But I hope that incident-- alien invasion, would stay imaginary coz that would be extremely terrifying….  okay lang kung friendly sila.
